Queensland has 19 regions and 3,196 suburbs. Its 113,891 streets hold 3,145,636 properties, 2,171,799 of them houses and 973,837 units. The regions with the most properties are Gold Coast with 404,345, Sunshine Coast with 263,673, Brisbane Inner City with 229,670 and Wide Bay with 205,210.

At the 2021 Census Queensland had 5,156,138 residents, a median age of 38 and an average household of 2.5 people. Median household income was $1,675 a week, the median mortgage repayment $1,733 a month and the median rent $365 a week. Of 1,869,462 dwellings, 1,397,920 were separate houses, 218,546 semi-detached, 233,531 flats and 13,519 other; 543,285 were owned outright, 643,459 owned with a mortgage and 618,442 rented.
